Longtime UFC veteran Michael McDonald made his Bellator MMA debut at Bellator 191, defeating Peter Ligier by unanimous decision.
The fight was not exactly the barn burner one would expect from McDonald and that is for good reason.
McDonald announced that he suffered a broken hand during the bout with Ligier, which apparently happened sometime in the second round of the fight. McDonald posted an x-ray of the injury:
I am proud of my performance & so should my opponent Peter. He truly rose to the occasion & put on a fantastic performance. I assume you all want to see the broken hand X rays lol. Here you go! Cant believe I fought another round busted like this lol. Praise God for adrenaline! pic.twitter.com/0RmlrqyU9J

While the fighter has posted about the injury, a time frame for his return or any potential surgery on the broken hand has yet to be commented on. McDonald got his release from the UFC earlier this year and he had previously challenged for the UFC Interim Bantamweight Title against then champion Renan Barao.
Bellator 191 was the first fight in over a year for McDonald and it was also the first win in almost two years for the competitor.
