UFC Fight Night Liverpool is complete and in the main event, it was #8 Darren Till picking up a unanimous decision victory over #1 Stephen Thompson.
With very minor exceptions, it was a striking contest between the two competitors, with Till dropping Thompson in the fifth round.

Round Five: The round begins with Till coming forward and swinging away at Thompson, Thompson and Till exchange some leg kicks. Thompson and Till throw some kicks and not much of them land, Thompson catches a charging Till with a kick to the midsection. Till backs up Thompson before throwing a few strikes against him, Till drops Thompson with a left and Thompson scrambles back to his feet. Thompson catches an incoming Thompson with a short left, Thompson goes for a takedown and Till stuffs it. The fighters stare at each other as the round comes to an end.
Till has now won his second straight UFC main event bout, while Thompson suffers his first loss since dropping a decision to UFC Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley last year. Till did miss weight for the bout by 3.5 pounds, but was allowed to compete after passing a fight day weigh-in.
