Alex Caceres will be kicking off the main card of UFC On Fox 23 tonight, where he will be taking on Jason Knight in a featherweight division clash.
Caceres, though, is refusing to do one major thing before the fight: talk trash.
“A lot of interviews, especially the mainstream media when they’re marketing the fight, they want you to talk crap about the person,” he said to MMA Junkie. “They want to hear that egotistical confidence you have, the false machismo. And they try to bring it out of me, and it’s hard, because I have nothing personal against the person. It’s hard for make something personal against a person I don’t know.”
One of the biggest reasons that Caceres refuses to talk trash about his opponent is due to his lack of familiarity with his opponent.
“I’m pretty sure he’s well-renowned within the fight community,” Caceres said. “I just don’t watch it on TV. I don’t know anybody unless I met them in person.”
