Alex Morono competed on the preliminary card of UFC Fight Night Wichita, defeating Zak Ottow by first round TKO.
A victorious Morono knows who he wants to fight next and that fighter comes in the form of Diego Sanchez.
“I was so incredibly happy to see Diego Sanchez beat up Mickey Gall,” Morono said to MMA Junkie. “He’s like the last OG. If I could share the octagon with him that would be a dream come true. Everyone knows who he is. That would be such an awesome fight. Win, lose or draw, it’s the honor of fighting him that I’m going for. It would be amazing to get that fight. If not, I can’t wait to see him fight again.”
Sanchez last competed at UFC 235, defeating another upstart in Mickey Gall by second round TKO.
If the bout between Sanchez and Morono were to come together in the future, it would pit fighters against each other who are both in the midst of two bout winning streaks.
There has been no response yet from Sanchez to the challenge laid out by Morono, but there are still plenty of events happening this year for the potential encounter to come together at.
