Alexander Hernandez Replaces Bobby Green At UFC 222

Beneil Dariush is going to remain on next week’s UFC 222 card and he is going to be facing late replacement Alexander Hernandez, who replaces the injured Bobby Green.

Dariush (14-3-1) has won just two of his last four fights in the UFC, with that last victory coming over Rashid Magomedov at UFC Fight Night 98. Dariush has suffered all of his professional MMA defeats in the UFC, with two coming by KO/TKO and one coming by way of submission. Dariush has earned six of those fourteen wins as a pro by submission, but it has been almost three years since the fighter got a finish in that manner.

Hernandez (8-1-0) is going to be making his UFC debut in this encounter and does so on the strength of a six fight winning streak. Hernandez hasn’t suffered a defeat in almost five years and that loss came to Jammall Emmers at Hero FC: Pride Of the Valley II. Hernandez has spent the majority of his MMA career in the Hero FC promotion, winning four of five fights there.

UFC 222 takes place on Saturday, March 3 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with Cyborg and Yana Kunitskaya headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
