Alistair Overeem Signs With Glory, Makes Return To Kickboxing

Former UFC title challenger Alistair Overeem is making his return to the sport of kickboxing and has signed with the Glory promotion.

Overeem posted a video to his Instagram where he takes off and throws down a pair of UFC gloves, seemingly symbolizing his departure from the promotion. A second video tweeted by ESPN's Ariel Helwani then shows Overeem picking up a pair of Glory kickboxing gloves with Helwani also reporting that he has signed a multi-fight deal with the kickboxing company and his debut is set for later this year, but no opponent has been determined yet.

The Dutch MMA legend finished his UFC run going 4-2 in his last six Octagon appearances, losing his latest outing to Alexander Volkov via a second-round TKO at UFC Vegas 18. His debut with Glory will be his first kickboxing bout since winning the K-1 World Grand Prix 2010 Final after knocking out Peter Aerts in the first round.
