Reigning UFC bantamweight champion, Aljamain Sterling, is scheduled to take on former two-division champ, Henry Cejudo, at UFC 288 on May 6.
Sterling confirmed the booking on his show The Weekly Scraps Podcast, although the promotion itself has not officially announced anything regarding the bout or event. Sterling is currently riding an eight-fight winning streak dating back to April 2018 and is coming off a second-round TKO win over former UFC bantamweight champion, TJ Dillashaw, at UFC 280 back in October. Cejudo on the other hand will end a short-lived retirement to make his Octagon return. His last appearance came back at UFC 249 in May 2020 where he defeated former bantamweight champ, Dominick Cruz, via a second-round TKO.
