Amanda Ribas Notified Of Potential USADA Violation

Amanda Ribas was slated to face Juliana Lima in a women’s strawweight division fight next month at the UFC Ultimate Fighter 25 Finale.

However, the fighter has been notified by the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) that there is a potential violation and has now been pulled from the UFC Ultimate Fighter 25 Finale.

The fighter was flagged after an out of competition sample collected on June 7, what illegal substances were potentially found have yet to be revealed.

Once the fighter received word of the potential USADA violation, then she would come to her own defense via Instagram:

 

 

Lima is expected to remain on the card as UFC officials are currently seeking a replacement to fight her on short notice.

Lima (9-3-0) has won three of five fights in the UFC, with those three wins coming over Nina Ansaroff, Ericka Almeida and JJ Aldrich. Lima’s only two defeats in the UFC came to Carla Esparza and Joanna Jedrzejczyk, who are the only two women to hold the UFC Women’s Strawweight Title. Lima also competed once in the Invicta Fighting Championships, dropping a fight to Katja Kankaanpaa at Invicta FC 5.

UFC Ultimate Fighter 25 Finale takes place on Friday, July 7 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with Justin Gaethje and Michael Johnson headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox Sports 1.
