Silva is widely regarded as the greatest MMA fighter of all time. 'The Spider' absolutely changed the game due to his incredibly exciting and unorthodox style which many fighters today try to emulate but struggle to do.
Silva's UFC career spanned over 16 years where he successfully defended his middleweight title 10 times in a row and produced some of the most notorious and incredible finishes the UFC has ever seen.
Silva's UFC career was filled with the highest of highs as well as the lowest of lows. Following his horrific leg break which happened in his fight against Chris Weidman in 2013, Silva would go on to fight Nick Diaz where he originally won via decision but the contest was later judged a no contest as Silva tested positive for PED's. This no doubt tainted the legacy which Silva had created for himself in his 23 year UFC career.
Following his fight with Diaz, Silva would go on to have five more fights in the UFC where he would only win one of them.
Despite his UFC career ending in the way it did both in the octagon and behind the scenes with Dana White, Silva still remains right at the very top of the list of the greatest MMA fighters of all time and his induction into the UFC Hall Of Fame is greatly deserved.
