Andrew Sanchez Says Eye Infection Led To UFC Vancouver Withdrawal

Tomorrow nights UFC Fight Night Vancouver event is moving on with one less bout because a middleweight division attraction between Marvin Vettori and Andrew Sanchez was pulled from the card.

Sanchez, who was the cause for the cancellation, says that an eye infection is what led to the withdrawal from UFC Fight Night Vancouver.

Here is a transcript of what Sanchez said, provided by MMA Junkie:

“I was cutting weight, I was making weight, I was doing everything. I was prepared to fight, but it’s just not going to happen with an eye like this. It’s dangerous, and I want to apologize to the UFC, my friends, my family, my fans, and my opponent. But the good news is we have been rescheduled four weeks from now, October 12th in Tampa Bay, Florida, so we’re going to run it back.”

A recovering Sanchez says that bout has been rescheduled for UFC Fight Night Tampa Bay, but nothing has been made official at this time.
