Former unified heavyweight champion, Andy Ruiz Jr, is scheduled to take on kickboxing legend Tyrone Spong in the headline bout of a Triller Fight Club event this summer.
The promotion announced the matchup themselves via the following tweet from their official Twitter account, revealing that Ruiz Jr. and Spong are set to collide on July 16 at the Plaza de Toros in Mexico City, Mexico in a ten-round bout.

Ruiz Jr. became the first Mexican heavyweight champion back in June 2019 when he upset former unified champ, Anthony Joshua, via a seventh-round TKO victory. He's 34-2 overall as a pro and will look to build on a unanimous decision win over Chris Arreola last May in his latest outing. Spong meanwhile is 14-0 as a professional boxer since turning pro in March 2015. He is the current WBC and WBO Latino heavyweight champion with his last boxing match coming in August 2019 where he defeated Jeyson Minda via a second-round TKO.
