Anthony Pettis did right by his nickname when he landed one of the most extraordinary kicks in MMA history 10 years to the day.
On December 16, 2010, Pettis was launched into MMA superstardom on the back of the most exciting highlight any of us had ever seen. He took to Twitter on Wednesday to celebrate the feat.

While it's simple enough to appreciate the jaw-dropping nature of the Showtime Kick, it's important to put a highlight like this in the proper context. Pettis was probably trailing in the fight at the time when this kick took place in the fifth round. In addition to all that, this was the final fight in the history of World Extreme Cagefighting (WEC).
Pettis' flashiness is becoming less and less regular with the emergence of all-action stars like Michel Pereira. Both Pettis, and Pereira fight on this weekend's upcoming UFC Vegas 17. Pettis vs. Alex Morono in the featured prelim, and Pereira against Khaos Williams on the main card.
