Arnold Allen was last seen in action on the preliminary card of UFC Fight Night London, defeating Jordan Rinaldi by unanimous decision.
A victorious Allen doesn’t care who he fights next, as long as that opponent is ranked.
“It’s been on the goal list for the last three years (fighting a ranked opponent), and (expletive) keeps coming up,” Allen said after the event (via Mike Bohn & Abbey Subhan of MMA Junkie). “Getting injured and delayed and whatnot. My goal this year is to not have one fight and be back next year in London; ideally before that. Any time before London next year I’ll be happy. As long as it’s 2019.”
Allen is undefeated under the UFC banner and he holds a 5-0-0 record in the promotion, but known of those wins came over ranked opposition.
Even though Allen does want a ranked opponent next, don’t expect to hear him call a particular opponent out.
“It’s not going to excel my career not calling anyone out, but I’ve got to stay true to myself,” Allen said. “That’s not me. I will be in that position one day to call for top five and title fights, but I’m not in that position now, so it makes no sense to call someone out.”
The fighter is in the midst of a seven fight winning streak and he hasn’t suffered a defeat in over four years.
