Artem Lobov Doesn’t Think Mayweather Wants To Fight McGregor

Artem Lobov is a longtime training partner of UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor, who has signed his half of the bout agreement to fight Floyd Mayweather.

According to Lobov, the legendary boxer doesn’t even want to fight McGregor in the first place.

“The ball is in Mayweather’s court right now,” Lobov said in an interview with Fight Nights Global. “He’s the last signature that’s needed. He’s talked a big game, so let’s see if it happens now. Let’s see can he deliver now. When it really matters now, will he show up to fight?”

Lobov has no professional boxing experience to speak of, much like longtime training partner in McGregor.

The fighter does admit that if the fight eventually does come together, it is going to be a fight that everybody wants to see.

“That’s what everybody wants to see. It’s going to be a great fight, so let’s make it happen,” says Lobov.

Although there is no official date for the fight set yet, a Showtime executive recently stated that the fight would most likely be taking place in the fall. Recently, UFC President Dana White also stated that the upcoming GGG/Alvarez fight stole the September 16 date that McGregor and Mayweather would have fought on.
