UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Amanda Nunes has been training at American Top Team (ATT) for awhile now and Conan Silveira is the head coach at ATT.
When it comes to a potential super fight between Nunes and UFC Women’s Featherweight Champion Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino, its a bout that will definitely happen according to Silveira.
“I think it’s not 100 percent, but 1,000 percent going to happen,” Silveira told MMA Junkie. “I think it’s something everybody wants to see, even the ones that think they’re going to lose something. I just think it’s a champions fight. I think they need to have that fight. It’s a big push for MMA in general, females and males. People want to see it. I think they have the best opportunity to leave their marks on history.”
Nunes came out on Twitter recently to say that she would fight Cyborg, while Cyborg is more interested in fighting Megan Anderson or Pam Sorenson.
Silveira also believes that the fight will have a major impact on both competitor's legacies if it does come together.
“I believe that when you fight and you get to be a contender, it’s really hard. When you win and you become a champion, it’s even harder than that,” Silveira said. “But when you have a chance to leave your name in history, I think you have to do it. It’s something that’s good for everybody.”
Cyborg hasn’t competed since defeating former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Holly Holm at UFC 219, while Nunes hasn’t competed since defeating Valentina Shevchenko at UFC 215.
