Bellator MMA Signs TUF Brazil Alum Matheus Mattos

Another member of the Pitbull Brothers team is coming to Bellator MMA as the promotion has signed Matheus Mattos to a contract.

Mattos, who is 12-1-1 as a professional MMA fighter, says signing with Bellator MMA is the culmination of his twelve year professional MMA career.

“It’s the culmination of a 12-year career in MMA,” Mattos told MMA Fighting. “I moved to Natal, have new home and new team, and now I train with Patricio, the best fighter in Bellator history. Patricky is also someone I look up to.”

The fighter competed on the UFC Ultimate Fighter Brazil 4, making it to the quarterfinals of the reality show before losing to Reginaldo Vieira.

A newly signed Mattos knows that competing under the Bellator MMA banner is the chance of a lifetime.

“This is the chance of a lifetime, the opportunity I’ve been waiting and preparing for,” said Mattos. “I have great training here, (Henry) Cejudo and (Kelvin) Gastelum were training here not that long ago, and we have captain Eric Albarracin giving us a great wrestling background.”

There is no word at this time as to when Mattos will make his promotional or whom that bout will come against.
