Bellator's Ed Ruth Says He "Would Be Interested" In Professional Wrestling

Ed Ruth says WWE never contacted him but he is not ruling out professional wrestling.

Undefeated Bellator MMA Middleweight and three-time NCAA amateur wrestling champion Ed Ruth went from his amateur wrestling career to fighting professionally in the Bellator cage. WWE and professional wrestling as a whole has attracted amateur wrestler in the past with wrestlers like The Steiner Brothers and Brock Lesnar and more recently with Matt Riddle and Chad Gable. In an interview with Fightful MMA's Sean Ross Sapp, Ruth said he has never been offered a spot in professional wrestling but he is not against the idea.

Jon Jones: Tom Aspinall Is Such An Asshole That I Don't Want To Do Business With Him

"No, I haven't had anybody from WWE (contact him). I would be interested. It does look really fun. Funny story about that, that's what got me started with wrestling. I saw that on tv and when I went into the room and everyone was on the floor, I was like 'what is this?' I come to find out that was real wrestling," said Ruth.

Ruth has planned for his future after mixed-martial-arts but he has always seen himself as a businessman.

"I would love to do that or small movie roles, stuff like that. But, I've always seen myself doing something business-wise, like an entrepreneur, having properties, and all that. Just something to make me comfortable in the future. I can't fight forever," said Ruth

At Bellator 186, Ruth will face UFC veteran Chris Dempsey at the Bryce Jordan Center on his alma mater's campus at Pennsylvania State University.

Fightful MMA will provide live coverage Ruth's fight and the rest of Bellator 186. There will also be a recapping podcast
