Beneil Dariush will be heading into enemy territory at UFC Fight Night 106, he will be facing Brazil native Edson Barboza.

While Dariush has competed in Brazil before, he’s not too concerned with the judges in the country showing perceived favoritism.

“That does make me nervous, but I guess I’ll have to fight harder,” he said to MMA Junkie. “It’s not like the American judges are going to favor me, but at least I know they’re not going to favor him either.”

In his other fight in the country, Dariush defeated Carlos Diego Ferreira at UFC 179 in 2014. As he prepares to head back to Brazil, Dariush would rather be competing in his adopted home state of California.

“I prefer to fight at home and be comfortable,” Dariush said. “But I don’t mind. This will be my third trip to Brazil. But it’s a lot easier when it’s at home, when you know you’re going to be able to go to Whole Foods.”

UFC Fight Night 106 takes place on Saturday, March 11 from the Centro de Formacao Olimpica do Nordeste in Fortaleza, Brazil with Kelvin Gastelum and Vitor Belfort headlining, the main card airs live on Fox Sports 1.
