BJ Penn Now Winless In Last Six Fights, Defeated By Siver

Despite a promising knockdown in round two, BJ Penn remains winless in almost seven years.

The UFC Hall of Famer Penn moved to 0-3 at featherweight after losing to fellow UFC mainstay Denns Siver at Sunday night at UFC Fight Night: Oklahoma City. Penn was able to score a knockdown off of an uppercut in the second round, but Siver peppered Penn for three rounds on his way to victory.

Round Three: The round begins with Siver quickly attacking Penn with some leg kicks, Penn starts catching Siver with some jabs. Siver comes forward and just swings away against Penn, Siver nails Penn with a spinning heel kick to the midsection. Siver also connects with a few rights against Penn, Siver continues to just attack Penn with a variety of kicks. Siver nails Penn with a head kick followed by a punching combination, Siver and Penn exchange a few rights. Siver rocks Penn by landing a trio of straight rights, Siver continues assaulting Penn with striking combinations. Siver kicks away at Penn as the round ends.

Official Result: Dennis Siver def. BJ Penn by majority decision (28-28, 29-28, 29-27)

Penn was somehow able to muster a 28-28 draw on one scorecard, but was routed for the duration of the fight, outside of the uppercut. This was the first time "The Prodigy" had fought twice in a year since 2011. 

The win was a big one for Siver, who hadn't emerged victorious since 2014, and had only won one of his previous five fights.
