Bruce Buffer To Miss UFC 267, Ends 25-Year Streak Announcing Numbered UFC Events

UFC 267 will mark the end of one of the most impressive streaks in broadcasting history.

According to MMA Fighting's Damon Martin, UFC President Dana White confirmed that longtime ring announcer Bruce Buffer has contracted COVID-19 and won't make the trip to Abu Dhabi for this weekend's pay-per-view.

"He didn't want to make this trip. He's home relaxing and recovering from COVID," White told Martin.

Buffer, 64, has become a staple of every major UFC event, taking ring announcing responsibilities dating of every numbered UFC event dating back to UFC 11 in 1996.

Filling in for Buffer this weekend will be Joe Martinez, who's a familiar face to the UFC faithful after taking over the ring announcing duties whenever Buffer hasn't been available.

Fightful will have complete coverage of UFC 267 beginning at 10:30 a.m. ET/7:30 a.m. PT on Saturday, October 30.
