Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez was all set to fight another former UFC Heavyweight Champion in Fabricio Werdum at UFC 207.
However, a mere few days before the event, the Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC) wouldn’t grant Velasquez a license to fight to due his ongoing back injury.
Velasquez recently took to his Facebook page to explain the situation from his side of it all:
Velasquez hasn’t competed since UFC 200 this past July, where he defeated Travis Browne by TKO in the opening round of their fight.
Velasquez was also looking to avenge a previous defeat he suffered to Werdum at UFC 188, the loss would make Werdum the UFC Heavyweight Champion.
Werdum didn't end up getting an opponent for UFC 207.
