Former IBF super middleweight champion, Caleb Plant, and current interim WBC champ, David Benavidez are set to meet on March 25 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
ESPN's Mike Coppinger was the first to report the news that the bout has been set for March, with the pair themselves confirming they'd signed contracts to face one another via their social media accounts last November. Plant is currently 22-1 as a pro and is coming off a ninth-round KO victory over former two-time WBC super middleweight champion, Anthony Dirrell, back in October. Benavidez meanwhile is undefeated as a pro at 26-0 and will look to build on a third-round TKO victory over former IBF middleweight champ, David Lemieux, last May.
