Canelo Alvarez Invites Jake Paul, Logan Paul To Spar: "They Lack Respect"

Jake Paul is certainly getting the attention he seeks but he can add Canelo Alvarez to the list of fighters looking to teach him and Logan Paul a lesson.

Alvarez isn't impressed with Paul so far and his out of the ring antics haven't warmed the pound for pound no.1 boxer in the world. Paul defeated former NBA star Nate Robinson and has called out Conor McGregor and even been threatened by Nate Diaz in recent weeks. Alvarez won't be entertaining Paul in a fight, despite Floyd Mayweather and older brother Logan Paul competing in an exhibition bout. Alvarez will, however, offer to show them the ropes by sparring with them.

“For true fighters, I do believe that it’s a lack of respect. I truly believe that it’s a lack of respect. It’s all based on money. It’s all about money," Alvarez said (h/t BJPenn.com). "I’m focused right now on other projects, I have other stuff going on. I would invite them over for a sparring session so they truly know what it’s all about.

Alvarez is fresh off a comprehensive win over Callum Smith and will be looking for another opponent soon. Paul will have to look elsewhere for an opponent as Alvarez doesn't believe that commissions should be handing out licenses to non-boxers due to the risk involved.

“It’s all about money and I don’t agree with it. I don’t agree that people who are basketball players or who are YouTubers get licenses,” Alvarez added. “This is a very risky sport, so if they’re going out there, it’s risky.”
