Charles Oliveira has been defeated by the scale, and is no longer your UFC lightweight champion.
In a stunning development, Charles Oliveira twice weighed at 155.5 pounds, which is within the normal allowance for a lightweight fight, just over the requirement for a title fight. As a result he has been stripped of the title. The fight will go on with only Justin Gaethje eligible to win the belt, should Charles Oliveira win the title will be vacated.
On his first attempt, Oliveira seemed surprised to not be on weight, and didn't attempt to remove his shorts to get as low as he could. On his second attempt the screen was brought out, but to no avail, as he weighed an identical amount.
OFFICIAL: Charles Oliveira has been stripped of the UFC lightweight championship. Belt will be vacant if he wins at #UFC274. Justin Gaethje will be lightweight champ if he wins.

This is the first time that a UFC champion has lost his title on the scale, tho Nicco Montano did lose her belt for not being able to make it to the scale back in 2017.
Updates to come as they become available.
