CM Punk Comes Out To “Cult Of Personality”; Still Gets Smashed

There is an old saying that goes “what is old is new again” and the same adage held very true on Saturday Night at UFC 203 because the song “Cult Of Personality” by Living Colour, which Punk used during his time in both the WWE and Ring Of Honor, was the song he used for his walkout to the octagon against Mickey Gall.

Gall, on the other hand, came out to the song “Hey Mickey” by Toni Basil, a song originally rejected by UFC President Dana White until a social media firestorm convinced the UFC kingpin to change his mind.

The fight on the other hand did not go the way that Punk or his team at Roufus Sport planned it to go because the former professional wrestler was submitted by Mickey Gall in just over two minutes of the first round. Punk, in a post-fight interview, stated that he will be back and that he had the time of his life inside of the octagon, despite taking a rather brutal beating.

Gall, taking center stage after his destruction of the pro wrestling superstar, issued a challenge to lightweight fighter Sage Northcutt, who was discovered on the very same “Lookin’ For A Fight” show that Gall himself was discovered on. Punk will be back according to his post-fight interview and it will be interesting to see where the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion goes from here in his quest for MMA supremacy.
