UFC Bantamweight Champion Cody Garbrandt hasn’t been seen inside of the Octagon since defeating Dominick Cruz at UFC 207 to win the title.
Aljamain Sterling is coming off of the biggest win of his professional MMA career, as he defeated former UFC Bantamweight Champion Renan Barao on the preliminary card of UFC 214.
The two bantamweights have seen their rivalry grow in recent months, including the following spat on Twitter. During the back and forth on the social media site, the bantamweight contender accuses the bantamweight champion of being a racist.

Although the rivalry seems to be growing between the two, the contender may have to wait for his shot at the gold because Garbarndt recently stated that he is fighting former champion TJ Dillashaw at UFC 217.
