UFC Interim Welterweight Champion Colby Covington is not afraid of making enemies, having taken shots at everybody from the people of Brazil to UFC Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley.
The interim title holder has recently taken aim at fellow UFC fighter Nick Diaz, whom Covington refers to as a little bitch.
“I think he’s too busy getting drunk and hitting women in clubs, he ain’t got enough time for fighting no more. He’s got bigger issues now, he’s got to deal with the law. All he’s been doing for the last couple of years is trying to generate hype, keep the hype up so he can get sponsors. He keeps saying he wants to fight but he’s out in Stockton acting like a little bitch,” Covington said on Submission Radio.
Covington has taken shots at Diaz before, blasting the fighter for having challenged two division UFC champion Daniel Cormier.
Now that Covington has taken shots at the Stockton native, one thing the interim champ knows is that it won’t be pleasant the next time he bumps into either Diaz brother.
“I expect him and Nate to be a little hostile the next time I see them and probably try and get their hands on me,” he said. “Put Nate and Nick with me in a room at the same time, there’s only man coming out and that’s me. Nick and Nate have no chance, I’ll beat both those scrubs up on the same night.”
Nick has been dealing with a lot of legal issues as of late surrounding an alleged domestic violence incident with an on again/off again girlfriend, while Nate hasn’t been in action since UFC 202.
