Colby Covington’s rise as MMA’s most controversial figure would continue on Saturday Night when he took to Twitter to insult both fellow fighter Mike Perry and his girlfriend.
This is what Covington posted on Twitter about the duo:
Hey @PlatinumPerry, maybe having your ratchet horse faced girlfriend as your head trainer isn't the smartest idea on planet earth. But hey, when you're the product of cousins fucking in Ocala FL how strong can your decision making skills be? #UFCOrlando

Although not directly mentioned in the tweet, one reason Covington may have posted it was due to comments made by Perry about the fighter earlier in the week.
Perry stated the following about Covington during an interview with WFAN Sports Radio:
“Colby [Covington]’s manager is a better manager than Colby is a fighter. He got him the right fights with the right people that got him leveled up to number three in the world. But, I think that’s Colby’s story because that’s as far as he goes. He don’t go past three. [I’d] fight [Colby Covington and Demian Maia] both with my hands down, man. Catch that underhook and hit them with the other arm. They not gonna get that takedown with me, I already said. I know exactly what Colby Covington would try to do: He’d try to put his head in my lap and suck my dick for 15 minutes. That’s it. That’s what he’s gonna try to do. So, we’ll see, man. If I can get that fight, I would like that fight.”
Despite suffering a loss to Max Griffin at UFC On Fox 28, a confident Perry did issue a brief statement through Twitter on the matter involving Covington:

Neither fighter is booked for another bout at the moment, so there may be an opportunity for both Covington and Perry to settle their issues inside of the Octagon.
