Former two division UFC champion Conor McGregor was arrested this past Monday after allegedly slapping a phone out of the hand of Ahmed Abdirzak before stomping on said phone and then carrying it away with him.
A video has been obtained by the Daily Mail (UK) showing McGregor arguing with a different person inside of the LIV club in Miami.
The identity of the person that McGregor allegedly argued with is unknown at this time.
As far as Ahmed goes, it would appear that the victim was a fan of the man who destroyed the aforementioned phone.
“He's very shaken. Very upset. He's a fan of McGregor's. He watches his fights on TV. That's why he tried to take a picture of him,” says Noah Abdirzak (Ahmed’s brother).
McGregor has since been released after posting bond, but is due back for arraignment on April 10.
Mahamad Abdrzak is Ahmed’s father and he calls the UFC star a an angry man and that the incident showed the fighter’s true character.
“What McGregor did is exactly in his character. He’s an angry man. I’m not a fan of his at all. I prefer Khabib (Nurmagomedov). He’s the fighter I like to watch, not McGregor,” says Mahamad.
Nurmagomedov and McGregor did meet in the Octagon at UFC 229, with Nurmagomedov scoring the fourth round submission win. McGregor and Nurmagomedov are also in the midst of serving suspensions handed out by the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) for their roles in the UFC 229 post-fight brawl.
