In just a few weeks, UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov is defending the strap against former two division UFC champion Conor McGregor at UFC 229.
McGregor believes that Nurmagomedov has been saying a lot of untrue statements to the media about him, which is why McGregor has labeled the champion a lying rat.
“You’re a fake, lying rat. I’m real. I wear it on my chest. There’s a gorilla on my chest and I wear it proud, mate. I don’t lie about nothing,” McGregor said during the UFC 229 press conference.
Nurmagomedov actually said little during the press conference this past Thursday because McGregor was ranting and raving for the majority of the time.
The talking comes to an end on October 6, but McGregor promises a skull crushing when they meet in the Octagon.
“I’m going to love putting you misery and stomping on your head. … Show up to this fight and we’ll get this over with. Pull out and you know what’s going to happen to you back home, kid,” says McGregor.
UFC 229 takes place on Saturday, October 6 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
