Conor McGregor last competed at UFC 246 earlier this year, defeating Donald Cerrone in the main event by first-round TKO.
The former two-division champion recently took to Twitter to reveal his frustrations with the UFC, while also claiming the promotion turned down 3-4 chances to have him fight this year:
After being ignored on the 3 dates I put forward. (3 consecutive dates I might add! Would have had me at 4 fights this calendar year) Followed then by being sidelined because no crowds in attendance, I said fuck this and bounced.

4 fights this era = 6mill PPV buys. How much lost? https://t.co/iDVcR2DD3j
McGregor and Dustin Poirier are reportedly set to meet this January in the main event of UFC 257, but the promotion hasn’t made the bout official at this time. McGregor has had near two years breaks in between UFC fights in the past, if UFC 257 does come together, it would mean that McGregor would have had a year break in between bouts this time around.
