Current UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor is arguably one of the most popular fighters in all of MMA right now, while HBO series Game Of Thrones is arguably one of the most popular shows on television right now, so it would seem natural that these two pop culture incons collide.
According to a tweet by Chamatkar Sandhu from MMA Junkie, HBO has been courting the UFC Lightweight Champion to appear on the show for quite some time now.
I reached out to McGregor's manager who tells me HBO have been courting the UFC lightweight champion for a while but it's not a done deal.

Dana White confirmed the news this week.
McGregor does have a few links to the show, as he has trained and sparred with Hafpor Julius Bjornsson, who is better known by his nickname of “Mountain” and has appeared many times on the hit HBO series. The other link is that McGregor is a part of the new Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare game, which Game of Thrones star Kit Harrington is a part of as well.
Game Of Thrones is based on a popular book series by author George R.R. Martin, the next two seasons are rumored to be the final two for the show. McGregor last competed at UFC 205 this past November, defeating Eddie Alvarez to capture the UFC Lightweight Championship.
