A featherweight division attraction has been announced today by the UFC for UFC Fight Night Ottawa as #8 Cub Swanson is in action against Shane Burgos.
Swanson (25-10-0) enters the contest while in the midst of a three fight losing streak, dropping bouts to the trio of Brian Ortega, Renato Moicano and Frankie Edgar. Swanson hasn’t picked up a win in almost two years, with that last victory coming over Artem Lobov at UFC Fight Night 108. Swanson has suffered ten losses as a professional MMA fighter and seven of those defeats came by way of submission.
Burgos (11-1-0) has won four of five bouts under the UFC banner, last defeating Kurt Holobaugh by first round submission at UFC 230. Burgos has suffered just a single defeat as a professional MMA fighter and that came against Calvin Kattar at UFC 220. Burgus has competed twelve times as a professional MMA fighter and just two of those encounters went the distance.
UFC Fight Night Ottawa takes place on Saturday, May 4 from the Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada with Al Iaquinta and Donald Cerrone headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
