Damir Hadzovic was last seen in the Octagon at UFC Fight Night Prague, defeating Marco Polo Reyes by second round TKO.
A victorious Hadzovic has a future opponent in mind and that foe comes in the form of Charles Oliveira.
“Charles Oliveira makes good sense, because I’ve never been submitted before, and this guy has the record in finishes. So, let’s fight, Charles!” Hadzovic said after the event (via MMA Junkie). “I’ve nothing against the guy. I respect him. He’s an aggressive and entertaining fighter. But so am I, and I’ve never been submitted, so it’s a challenge for him, and I want to knock him out. (It’s) the classic striker vs. grappler. Let’s do it, Charles!”
Oliveira was last seen in action at UFC Fight Night Fortaleza, defeating David Teymur by second round submission.
Hadzovic doesn’t know if Oliveira is going to be next, but Hadzovic would like his next fight to happen in Sweden.
“I want to get back to Sweden,” he said. “I fought there last time in May 2017. I had a great performance and got a knockout. And I live in Denmark. I’m a Bosnian Viking. I want to fight in the North. Shelby, Maynard, Dana, whoever makes those decisions, please let me fight in Stockholm. I fought there before, and I proved myself. I want to go there again.”
There has been no response from Oliveira in regards to the Hadzovic challenge, but he does sit at #15 in the UFC Lightweight Division rankings.
