Dana White Aims To "Bring Fans Back" For Conor McGregor vs. Dustin Poirier

Fans have not been in attendance at a UFC event since March of this year due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, but if Dana White gets his way, fans will be in attendance for Conor McGregor vs. Dustin Poirier.

Not only does White want to bring the fans back for UFC 257, but he wants International Fight Week to take place as well.

“I’m looking to make it International Fight Week,” White told Barstool Sports (via Simon Samano of MMA Junkie). “The new Etihad Arena will be open, and that thing was designed with us in mind. Concerts, pool parties, all kinds of cool stuff. And, yes, I hope to bring fans back. … That’s what I’m shooting for.”

The promotion has run events in Brazil, Florida, Las Vegas and Abu Dhabi during the coronavirus pandemic, but there have been no crowds at any of the shows.

White would also like to hold three events in one week if International Fight Week returns this January.

“What I would love to do is we’ll get there, and do it Saturday, Wednesday, Saturday fights,” White said. “… We go out there and kill it.”
