Dana White Claims That Cyborg Is Afraid To Lose Again To Amanda Nunes

Two division UFC champion Amanda Nunes defeated Cyborg by first round knockout to win the UFC Women’s Featherweight Title at UFC 232.

A rematch between the two seems like an inevitability, but UFC President Dana White isn’t so sure that Cyborg wants to fight Nunes again.

“She (Nunes) wants Cyborg,” White said to TMZ Sports. “She wants the Cyborg fight. I don’t think Cyborg wants that fight. I think it’s pretty obvious why she wouldn’t want that fight: it’s not a good fight for her. It’s a bad fight for her, and I get it.”

Nunes is just one of two fighters to defeat Cyborg, with the other person accomplishing that goal being Erica Paes.

White doesn’t think that Cyborg is afraid of Nunes, but does feel that she is afraid of losing again.

“I don’t think she’s afraid,” White said. “She’s been fighting for a long time and I think she’s at the point where she’s afraid to lose again. Losing again isn’t something she’s interested in. She doesn’t want to fight her. Amanda wants it, we want it, she doesn’t want it.”

Cyborg is back in action this weekend in the co-main event of UFC 240, facing former Invicta FC Featherweight Champion Felicia Spencer.
