The Rock had shown interest in presenting the winner of that bout with the BMF Championship and UFC President Dana White says it will now happen.
“He’s gonna,” he said to TMZ Sports (via Simon Head of MMA Junkie). “He’s taking my job. Listen, if The Rock wants to do it, The Rock gets what The Rock wants.”
When The Rock does present the championship to the UFC 244 main event winner, it will make him one of several current/former WWE stars to step in the Octagon, with Brock Lesnar, CM Punk, Ken Shamrock and others holding that honor as will.
White has also revealed that the BMF Championship took approximately $50,000 to create.
“That’s a good question. I think the belt’s like 50 grand,” he said.
UFC 244 takes place on Saturday, November 2 from Madison Square Garden in New York, New York with Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
