Former Bellator MMA Featherweight Champion Daniel Straus was involved in a serious motorcycle accident just before Christmas.

Outside of the initial update from Straus and his manager shortly after the accident, no other information was given on the fighter’s condition.

Straus has now taken to Instagram to provide fans with an update and the news is good:

This is a positive update from the former featherweight champion, because as the fighter wrote, walking again may not have been an option after the accident.

The fighter is a former two time Bellator MMA Featherweight Champion, defeating Pat Curran and Patricio Pitbull to start both reigns.

Despite the positive news from Straus, whether or not the former champion’s MMA career will continue isn’t known at this time. The last few years have been rough on the former champ, because outside of the motorcycle accident, a serious hand injury kept him out of action for all of 2016 and a small portion of 2017.
