Darren Till is about a month away from challenging UFC Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley for the gold in the main event of UFC 228.
The welterweight contender may become a champion in the UFC soon, but it seems like a “father of the year” award may be too far out of reach.
After the recent UFC 227 event, a talkative Till may have hinted at the fact that his parenting skills could use a ton of work during a backstage media scrum.
“I’ve got a girlfriend who’s nearly seven months pregnant. I don’t really care. I’ve got a daughter in Brazil right now who I haven’t seen for one year. I don’t really care. I just care about legacy and greatness. That’s what I’m in this for,” says Till.
Till is obviously not the first MMA fighter, male or female, to have issues in the parenting department, but the fighter may be the first to publicly out just how bad of a parent he has been and may still be to the future child.
UFC 228 takes place on Saturday, September 8 from the American Airlines Arena in Dallas, Texas with Tyron Woodley and Darren Till headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
