Darren Till is headlining his first ever UFC card this weekend when he faces Donald Cerrone in the main event of UFC Fight Night Gdansk.
The welterweight has a warning for Cerrone -- the fighter may die in the Octagon this Saturday.
“Donald Cerrone is going to take me down. He’s coming to take me down. He’s too old and fragile to be standing with a guy like me,” Till told MMA Fighting. “C’mon, look at the f**kin’ size of me for f**k’s sake! I’m twice his size, how the f**k is he going to strike with me? He’s coming to take me down, that’s his game plan. I don’t fault him for that. He’s getting old and he’s twice my age. Do not stand with me, you will die.”
Neither Till nor Cerrone have ever killed anybody in an MMA bout, plus there has yet to be a death in the UFC’s Octagon since the promotion started in 1993.
Till also believes that his fight with Cerrone is a battle between the old generation and the new generation of fighters.
“Cerrone is the old generation and he’s fighting the new generation. He can say what he likes about him having more fights than me, but let’s get something straight – I’ve been fighting since I was 12 years old,” Till said.
UFC Fight Night Gdansk takes place on Saturday, October 21 from the Ergo Arena in Gdansk, Poland with Donald Cerrone and Darren Till headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on UFC Fight Pass.
