DC Says He’s Fighting Brock Lesnar Next, May Give Stipe Miocic A Title Shot After

MMA

It has been less than a month since Daniel Cormier defeated Stipe Miocic by first round knockout to win the UFC Heavyweight Title at UFC 226.

DC is already thinking about future plans and his ideas line up with that of UFC President Dana White, which is a bout against former UFC Heavyweight Champion and current WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar.

“I don’t know, I think I’m gonna fight Brock Lesnar,” Cormier said to TMZ Sports. “That seems, like, a little better.”

Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Stipe Miocic has already called for a rematch against the new champion, even blasting the potential fight between DC and Lesnar.

Cormier, who plans on retiring this coming March, gave TMZ Sports a quick answer as to whether or not he’ll give the former champion a shot to reclaim the gold.

“Maybe,” Cormier said.

A UFC Heavyweight Title bout may not be on the dual champion’s mind at this time, as DC recently stated that he may defend the UFC Light Heavyweight Title before the Lesnar bout, naming former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Mauricio Rua as a potential foe. The super fight between DC and Lesnar isn’t likely to happen until early 2019, as Lesnar has to serve the remained of his USADA issued rug test first.
