Former UFC flyweight champion, Deiveson Figueiredo, and top contender, Manel Kape are scheduled to meet at UFC 290 on July 8 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
ESPN Deportes' Carlos Contreras Legaspi was the first to report the news of the matchup being in the works via a tweet early Thursday morning, although the promotion itself has yet to officially confirm anything regarding the booking. Figueiredo is 6-2-1 in his last nine fights, and is coming off a third round TKO loss to current flyweight champ, Brandon Moreno, in their fourth meeting at UFC 283 back in January. Kape meanwhile is on a three-fight winning streak, and will look to build on a unanimous decision victory over, David Dvořák, at UFC Vegas 66 last December.
