Diego Sanchez Claims Nick Diaz Sent Him Hate Mail: "Talking S--t About My Mom," Diaz Denies Doing It

Diego Sanchez and Nick Diaz used to have bad blood.

Sanchez and Diaz fought at UFC Ultimate Fighter 2 Finale in November 2005. Sanchez scored a unanimous decision win on that night. Sanchez says Diaz used to send him hate mail, mentioning his mother and father, after their one-off fight.

“Me and Nick Diaz hated each other,” Sanchez said on Real Quick w/Mike Swick (via MMA Fighting). “Nick Diaz used to send me e-mails. He found my e-mail, he talked to one of the MMA journalists at the time, there weren’t many. Gave him my e-mail and he would e-mail me hate mails. Bad shit. Talking shit about my mom, talking shit about my dad, just trying to get under my skin with everything he had. He hated me. He hated Ultimate Fighters because we got all that attention. He was in the spotlight at that time, he hated us and he hated me.”

Sanchez believes a lot of the issues between himself and Diaz were due to his time spent on The Ultimate Fighter 1. The TUF 1 middleweight winner says a lot of people who competed on the reality show had successful professional MMA careers.

“‘Those Ultimate Fighters, they were just all a reality show,’” Sanchez said. “Yeah right, look at all of our best victories, all of us. Look at Forrest, he became world champion. Bonnar fought five world champions. We were legit.”

Diaz has since taken to Instagram Stories, denying that he event sent Sanchez the hate mail, while also stating the following (via Bloody Elbow):

“I would never do this."
