A welterweight division clash has been added to the ever growing UFC Fight Night Norfolk card as Diego Sanchez returns to the division to fight Matt Brown.
Sanchez (27-10-0) has rotated wins and losses in his last seven UFC appearances, with his last bout being a loss to Al Iaquinta at UFC Fight Night 108. Sanchez also returns to the welterweight division for the first time in over five years, with his last bout in the division being a loss to Jake Ellenberger at UFC On Fuel TV 1. Sanchez has previously challenged for the UFC Lightweight Title, losing to then champion BJ Penn at UFC 107 in December 2009.
Brown (20-16-0) enters the fight riding a three bout losing streak and he hasn’t earned a victory in well over two years. The last win that Brown earned came by first round submission over Tim Means at UFC 189 in July 2015. Brown has been a welterweight division mainstay for his entire UFC tenure, which began at the UFC Ultimate Fighter 7 Finale in 2008.
UFC Fight Night Norfolk takes place on Saturday, November 11 from the Ted Constant Convocation Center in Norfolk, Virginia with Dustin Poirier and Anthony Pettis headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox Sports 1.
