Former UFC and Bellator lightweight champion, Eddie Alvarez, is set to test free agency as he's no longer with the ONE Championship promotion.
The South China Morning Post's Nicolas Atkin was the first to report the news that Alvarez and ONE have reached an agreement to release him from his contract early. Alvarez himself later confirmed the report via the following statement posted on his official Twitter account, saying both parties agreed to part ways "amicably." The 38-year-old Philadelphia, Pennsylvania native went 1-2-1 in just four appearances under the ONE banner, most recently suffering a unanimous decision defeat to former ONE lightweight champ, Ok Rae Yoon, at ONE on TNT 4 back in April.
Confirmed ,I am no longer with ONE. We parted ways amicably and I remain on good terms with the ONE team. I want to thank Chatri for the opportunity and I look forward to watching their continued success. I’m officially a free agent and Ready to Hunt ------ Tell me whose next ?UGK
