Newly crowned Invicta FC strawweight champion, Emily Ducote, will make her first title defense against former Invicta FC atomweight champ, Alesha Zappitella, at Invicta FC 47 on May 11.
The promotion officially announced the matchup via a tweet, revealing the Ducote-Zappitella matchup as the headline bout for their next event. Ducote is 4-1 in her last five fights and is coming off of a first-round KO victory over former UFC veteran Danielle Taylor at Invicta FC 44. Zappitella meanwhile is also 4-1 in her last five appearances and will look to rebound from a unanimous decision loss to current Invicta FC atomweight champion, Jéssica Delboni, in their rematch back at Invicta FC 45.
