Exclusive: Injury Forces Fighter From Bellator 170 Card, Company Seeking Replacement

MMA

Bellator has signed Colleen Schneider and plans to have her fight at Bellator 170, but it won't be against Rebecca Ruth as originally planned.

Fightful.com has learned that Ruth (6-2) is out of the fight with an undisclosed injury, and the company is seeking a replacement for the flyweight bout.

"She's injured and is out of the fight. I was looking forward to fighting her, so Bellator is looking for a new opponent for me," Schneider told Fightful. "I want to fight and they want me to fight. If they decide to make it happen, they can make it happen."

The 10-7 Schneider is fresh off of an Invicta FC Bantamweight Championship loss to Tonya Evinger in May, but has decided to drop back down to flyweight, where she's enjoyed success in the past.

Bellator 170 takes place from The Forum in Inglewood, California on January 21. Fightful.com will have full, live coverage of the event.
