“No, I don’t think it could’ve (Gone any better). Everything went exactly according to plan, it just might have happened a little quicker than we might have intended. Man that was awesome, it is a dream come true for the moment. You thought I was confident before, pretty fired up now,” Hernandez said in an exclusive interview with Fightful’s James Lynch.

Hernandez actually took the bout at UFC 222 on short notice, replacing an injured Bobby Green at the event.

Since Hernandez took the fight on late notice, betting odds were stacked against him in a big way, but those who believed and bet on Hernandez walked away happy.

“No I didn’t know that, I wish people would listen to me. I said earlier that everybody cashed out, all of my friends cashed out, so everybody had some pretty fat pockets for the post-fight celebration. It was a really awesome time, some people made a lot of money…it was a pretty lucrative weekend for everybody, it was awesome,” says Hernandez.

The fighter doesn’t have his next bout scheduled at the moment, but Hernandez is definitely a prospect to watch after the upset win at UFC 222.
