Curtis Millender is back inside of the Octagon at UFC 226, where he is going to be taking on another prospect in Max Griffin.
The welterweight star had been wanting to fight Griffin for a long time, even before the fighter got signed by the UFC.
“Its gonna before fun, before he got called up…I wanted to fight him. I’ve been looking at him for awhile, he says he never heard of me or that I was looking out for him. Its gonna be fun, I’m definitely going to get a bonus off of him,” says Millender in an exclusive interview with Fightful’s James Lynch.
Millender is going to be looking to stay unbeaten under the UFC banner, having already defeated Thiago Alves by knockout at UFC Fight Night Austin.
If there is anything that Millender can guarantee for UFC 226, it is that he’ll finish Griffin in the second round of their bout.
“The second round…he’s done, if he makes it to the third (round)…it won’t be very long into the third. I don’t see him (lasting) unless he tightens up, there’s just so many holes (in Griffin’s game). He says he wants to pressure me, but the way he strikes or pressures me…he will be open for something. Its just…can’t wait, can’t wait,” says Millender.
UFC 226 takes place on Saturday, July 6 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with Stipe Miocic and Daniel Cormier headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
