Dan Hooker is back in action this Saturday Night at UFC Fight Night Atlantic City, facing Jim Miller in a lightweight division affair.

The lightweight star accepted the fight because of the legacy surrounding Jim Miller, which is what excites Hooker most about the upcoming encounter.

“This is a fight that really excites me, more so because Jim Miller is a name (fighter). He’s a guy that I respect a lot, he’s a guy that has been around the sport for so long. When I seen Jim Miller’s name pop up, it was one of those fights I was excited to accept over…lets say they (the UFC) were to offer me a ranked opponent, this is still a more exciting fight for me. I’m in a position in my career where I only want to take fights that excite me, not so much that I want to beat him in front of his hometown fans or anything like that. Jim Miller is a name and I would pretty much fight him anywhere,” says Hooker in an exclusive interview with Fightful’s James Lynch.

Hooker could also be catching Miller at the perfect time because the New Jersey native is in the midst of a three fight losing streak, which is the worst losing skid of Miller’s professional MMA career.

Even though Miller is on a bad losing streak, an expectant Hooker is ready for three rounds of hell in a few short days.

“I am going in for three rounds…three rounds of solid hell. That’s what I’m prepared for, I’m always prepared for that. I always prepare for fifteen minutes of just hell, I’ll be bringing it to Jim. I feel this is a good fight for both of us, it will show the world where I stack up with the elite guys in the division. It’ll also show how much Jim has left in the tank,” says Hooker.

UFC Fight Night Atlantic City takes place on Saturday, April 21 from the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey with Edson Barboza and Kevin Lee headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox Sports 1.
